FS MUN at another conference in addition to NMUN New York - for the first time ever!
After five years of growing and becoming more professional and successful, we felt that FS MUN was ready to take the next step. A couple of our most experienced delegates decided that one Model UN per year was not enough and wanted to check out one of the more regional simulations conducted in Europe on a regular basis. Within this report we would like to share our experience of participating at NMUN Rome 2014 and outline our vision for the future development of FS MUN.
Only two words to describe what the Conference this year was: ‘intensive’ and ‘training’.
At this year’s NMUN conference in New York, it was the first time in Frankfurt School history that 35 students across bachelor and master programs represented one of the major political powers in the world. Not only is the Russian Federation the largest country in the world, a P5-member, and the most important country that FS MUN has represented at NMUN-NY to date. Also, this assignment gave us the opportunity to send delegate teams to nearly all simulated committees.
First break through: awards for an outstanding position paper & our video!
It is simply not possible to put all our experiences on paper. 2012 was the third time that a delegation from the Frankfurt School participated at ModelUnitedNations in New York City. Furthermore we were able to win our first award for an outstanding position paper this year and another award for the video our Media Team made about the conference. This may show that our initiative is doing an excellent job that we wish to continue in the next years. Also, read about the Marriott Marquis Hotel and Think Coffee!
