The Centre aspires to stand at the forefront of Europe's journey towards a sustainable future. The Centre powers excellence across all areas of scholarship crucial for advancing Europe’s sustainable transformation. It brings a renewed focus to issues of financing institutional and economic infrastructure, the role of transformative finance, and the politics of transitioning to sustainable growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Description

The Centre of European Transformation is seeking to fill the position of an experienced and innovative Strategic Centre Manager. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape and grow our Centre from the ground up, fostering a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Centre Management:
    • Oversee daily operations ensuring a productive and harmonious work environment.
    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure the effective dissemination and utilization of research outputs.
    • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  2. Strategic Leadership:
    • Contribute to defining and implementing the Centre’s strategic vision.
    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives, to promote the Centre’s work and secure partnerships.
    • Represent the Centre in various forums, presenting our work to a diverse audience.
  3. Entrepreneurial Development:
    • Identify new research opportunities and partnerships that align with the Centre’s objectives.
    • Lead the planning (content) and execution of events, forums, and other initiatives to promote the Centre’s visibility and impact.
    • Encourage a culture of innovation, facilitating the exchange of ideas to drive the Centre forward.
  4. Research Advocacy:
    • Ensure a thorough understanding of the research process within the team, promoting a culture of excellence.
    • Collaborate with researchers to identify key messages and translate findings into actionable insights for a wider audience.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Economics required (PhD is a plus)
  • Min 5-year experience in a managerial role (within a research or academic setting is a plus)
  • Demonstrated strong project management and independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills
  • Ease working across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly and move between subjects
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong sense for prioritization and 'getting things done' mentality; strong desire to take ownership and bring in innovative ideas
  • Ability to effectively engage and build networks with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in German and English (any other European language is a plus)
