Withing the scope of its International Advisory Services at Frankfurt School has intensified its research and engagement in the area of climate and disaster risk finance and insurance, establishing and managing the InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF) as well as Global Shield Solutions Platform (GSSP).
The ISF is an innovative programme to support and develop climate risk insurance products mitigating the negative impacts of climate related disasters such as droughts, heat and floods. The programme is funded by the German Government (BMZ), as an important contribution to the G20/V20 initiative of the InsuResilience Global Partnership. Within its mandate, the ISF supports detailed climate risk analyses in close cooperation with partners in developing countries increasing their resilience against negative impacts of climate change. Furthermore, the ISF hosts the Global Risk Modelling Alliance (GRMA), a public-private-partnership in cooperation with the Insurance Development Forum (IDF). The GRMA is a technical advisory programme aiming at capability development in vulnerable countries and providing support in risk analytics as a key step in closing the protection gap and moving from disaster response to risk prevention.
The focus of this position will be on a conceptual and advisory activity in the development and coordination of climate risk analyses for selected geographic areas (in developing countries) and other approaches to foster climate risk understanding and improved climate adaptation.
