What is the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center?

The FSBC is a think tank and research center focused primarily on investigating the implications of blockchain technology. In addition to general research and prototype development, the FSBC serves as a networking hub for managers, start-ups, and experts to exchange knowledge and best practices. The FSBC also organizes educational opportunities for both students and executives, including on-campus courses, workshops, and conferences. 

What is the focus?

Currently, the FSBC is focusing on crypto assets, digital securities, the digital euro, CBDCs, tokenization of assets and decentralized finance (DeFi). 

What projects?

Specifically, we operate the Crypto Assets Conference (CAC), the DLT Talents program, to empower women in the blockchain space, the DeFi Talents program, for education in the DeFi sector, and the AI Talents program, to foster leadership in the artificial intelligence space by empowering aspiring innovators to become experts, entrepreneurs, and industry pioneers.

Upcoming Events

FSBC Forum |19 NOV 2025

The exclusive one-day event, hosted by Frankfurt School Blockchain Center, will take place on the Frankfurt School Campus and bring together industry experts, leaders and participants to engage in interactive workshops and expert roundtables hosted by our partners.

The FSBC Forum will include the following roundtables and workshops, throughout the day, which are now open for registration:

  • Roundtable: "Building a Scalable Digital Assets Ecosystem: From Missing Pieces to Market-Ready Business Models" by KfWUnion Investment and Cashlink
  • Roundtable: "Tokenisierte Fondsanteile im Aufwind – Neue regulatorische Spielräume für die Asset Management Industrie" mit FUNDSONCHAIN und intas.tech (roundtable in German only)
  • Workshop with FinPlanet (Title and topic tba)

Master in Financial Technology (MSc)

The Master of Financial Technology offers flexible study tracks that accommodate both recent graduates and working professionals. AI for Finance (Certificate Course)

The course-level learning outcomes are to ensure that participants are able to recall fundamental concepts of AI, including machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, and generative AI.
Participants will gain the ability to describe key applications in finance, including examples from banking, investment, and wealth management. They will be able to identify AI-enabled business opportunities within the financial sector and analyse the operational impact of AI-driven solutions on efficiency and decision-making in financial institutions. They will also be able to evaluate the potential risks and benefits of applying AI in a financial environment, considering ethical and operational factors. They will be able to formulate a strategy for AI implementation within the organisation.
