MBA for Executives in Kinshasa

This MBA is designed for experienced business executives who aim to deepen their management expertise, boost their leadership skills and expand their networks across industries. Learning Goals

LG1: In-depth knowledge and understanding of general management, the implications of global perspectives on local management decisions, as well as business acumen.

Graduates will draw upon deep or expanded functional knowledge and broad, detailed and critical understanding of specifics, limitations and doctrines in business administration to shape responses and independent ideas to business and research opportunities and challenges.

LG 2:  Analytical and critical thinking skills combining analysis, judgment and creativity to generate innovative solutions and make balanced strategic decisions in global and local environments.

Graduates will base their decisions and strategies on critical and multidimensional analysis of different markets and various professional and scientific sources in a challenging international and local business environment. For that, they will apply appropriate methods (qualitative and quantitative) from relevant management disciplines.

LG 3: Effective executive communication, collaboration and cooperation skills.

Graduates will be integrative and effective communicators and team leaders. They will write, present, discuss and defend research and evidence-based findings in interdisciplinary fields. Graduates will contribute to team performance.

LG 4: Responsible, inspirational and ethical leaders of teams and organizations.

Graduates are self-aware and mindful leaders with the character needed for leading in any organisational or cultural context and the global environment. They decide and act based on ethical considerations, comply with regulatory requirements, and enhance the well-being of their stakeholders, organizations, society and the environment.

Requirements

  • Hold a first degree (Bachelor or equivalent, i.g. Licence Bac +5)
  • Have a work experience of at least three years which includes adequate management experience i.e. personnel, budget and/or strategic project responsibility.
  • Proficiency in English (B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)). This criterion can be waived for the following reasons: native English speaker, having completed a previous degree in English, having lived and worked over one year in an English- speaking country, working in a company where the corporate language is English or can otherwise prove the English proficiency (TOEFL iBT minimum 72 or IELTS minimum 6.5 score report).
  • Participate in the Assessment Center, which includes an interview and an English test.
  • The final admission decision is based on a combined assessment of the criteria above and lies with the Programme Director, in critical cases in agreement with the Academic Director.
  • The admission of participants without a first academic degree is regulated in § 3 (4) of the General Course and Examination Regulations of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Application Process

1. Online Application

The first step of our application process is to complete the online application form. You will need to upload the following supporting documents:

  • Copy of your transcript of records and degree award certificate
  • CV or resume (in English)
  • Proof of English profiency if available (i.g. TOEFL iBT minimum 72 or IELTS minimum 6.5 score report)
  • Other documentation supporting professional experience or other extracurricular activities, if applicable
2. Assessment Centre: English Test and Interview

Successful applicants will be invited to an assessment centre consisting of an English test and an interview. The paper-based English test will take place at UPC in Kinshasa. The interview will be held either over the phone or online. The purpose of the interview is to gain a better understanding of your character, personality, expectations, motivations and goals.

English Waiver

Proficiency in English (B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)). Frankfurt Experience

Your two-week stay in Frankfurt

Meet managers, academics, and MBA students from Frankfurt, broaden your intercultural skills through local exposure, and benefit from the atmosphere of Frankfurt School's world-class campus in the financial hub of Germany. During your two-week stay on campus in Frankfurt, you will learn about "Management Made in Germany" and get individual leadership coa­ching.

Company visits, networking events with other MBA students, and cultu­ral site visits will round up this unique international experience.

Academic Partner

Frankfurt School cooperates closely with the Uni­versité Protestante au Congo (UPC) in Kinshasa. Frankfurt School has been working with the UPC for over a decade in various programmes and projects in the DRC. In February 2018, Frankfurt School started the MBA for Executives in Kinshasa. Classes in Kinshasa take place either at the campus of UPC or in the Pullman Hotel, both centrally loca­ted in the DRCs capital.
