Five reasons to study in Munich

You do not live in Munich and are considering moving here for your studies?

5 Reasons to study in Munich

  1. Metropolis with a lot of green

With around 1.5 million inhabitants, Munich is the third largest city in Germany. Nevertheless, you rarely get the feeling of being in a big city, the Bavarian capital is often even referred to as a “big village”. This is mainly due to the many green areas. The English Garden is particularly well-known here. With its 375 hectares, it is one of the largest parks in the world.

2. Cultural diversity

Munich's culture is very diverse - the city offers one of the largest opera houses in Germany, museums, theaters, orchestras and many concert halls. Furthermore, many events take place throughout the year, such as the world-famous Oktoberfest, the Tollwood Festival and many more.

3. Excellent transport link

Munich has great public transport, but it is also the perfect location for trips outside of the city. In terms of the number of travelers in 2018, the airport ranks second in Germany after Frankfurt am Main. You can also get around well by bike in Munich due to the many cycle paths and you can quickly make your way to the mountains or to the south by all means of transport.

4. Great recreational opportunities

You never get bored in Munich. There are many great leisure activities and you can even surf! The most famous wave for surfing is the Eisbach wave. Additionally, you can go swimming in some places in the Isar or you can be in the mountains for hiking or skiing in winter in no time. Great food and lots of beer gardens make Munich a perfect place to relax.

5. Bavarian charm

Bavaria, and thus not only Munich, is particularly unique because of the people who live there. Sociable, sometimes a bit headstrong but with a lot of humor: a very good description of the people in Bavaria. They manage to perfectly combine traditional and modern, making life there very worthwhile.
