Frankfurt School of Finance & Management welcomes 104 new students to its Professional Master's programmes, the Master in Corporate Performance & Restructuring (MCPR), the Master of Banking and Capital Markets Law (MBL) and the Master of Mergers & Acquisitions (MMA). The MMA is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is – as well as the MBL – delighted to welcome the highest number of new students since its inception.
Before starting the programmes, around 20 students in the Professional Master's took advantage of the new bridge modules offered for the first time at Frankfurt School this year: These modules enable applicants to begin their studies who have completed their first degree with fewer than 240 ECTS credits and who cannot compensate for the missing ECTS by crediting professional experience. The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System ECTS facilitates the recognition of academic achievements between universities.
At the Professional Master's opening ceremony on October 31, Professor Ansgar Richter, Frankfurt School’s Dean of Faculty, welcomed the students to the campus. He was followed by Marinela Bilic-Nosic, partner at EY Consulting and Frankfurt School MMA alumna Class of 2007, who shared a clear message in her keynote speech:
"The future of the financial world will not be decided solely by technology, but above all by leadership. By studying at Frankfurt School, you are not only investing in knowledge. You are investing in your ability to shape the future. You are starting your master's programmes at an exciting, challenging, but also incredibly shapeable time. The financial world is at a turning point – and you are the ones who will determine the direction it takes."
The second guest speaker of the evening, Marleen Tavares, analyst at Alvarez & Marsal and alumna of the MCPR Class of 2025, focused on her experiences at Frankfurt School and the importance of human encounters:
"At Frankfurt School, you will learn a lot. But the most important things are not on slides. You will learn to assess yourselves, assert yourselves in groups, and respect other perspectives. You will learn to listen, to take responsibility – and sometimes to let go. A large part of your success here will be triggered by the people around you – people with very different life paths. This diversity is one of the greatest strengths of Frankfurt School, and the network you can build here is priceless."
The opening ceremony concluded with a buffet, where the new students made their first contacts in the Frankfurt School community.
