In December 2021, Professor Emanuel Mönch, 43, will be joining Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as professor of financial and monetary economics. Professor Mönch will research, teach and be involved in projects that promote the development of the Financial Big Data Cluster in Hesse. The financial market expert's research focuses on the effect of monetary policy on financial markets, interest rate structure analysis, and the modelling of risk premiums and macroeconomic expectations.

"With Emanuel Mönch, we are gaining an internationally experienced and sought-after finance expert and an excellent academic for our business school," says Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School. "We are delighted that his expertise will enable us to expand research and teaching. He will sharpen Frankfurt School's profile through new projects."

Professor Mönch studied economics and statistics at ENSAE in Paris and at Humboldt University in Berlin, where he received his PhD. From 2007 to 2015, he worked in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's research group, and taught as a visiting professor at Columbia University, New York. Since 2015, he has headed Deutsche Bundesbank's research centre, where he leads a team of more than 30 academics and advises the president and other members of the Bundesbank's executive board.

Professor Emanuel Mönch will be joining Frankfurt School as professor of financial and monetary economics
