Frankfurt School of Management & Finance congratulates Oana Barabula on receiving the 2020 German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Award. The bachelor's student received the award on 5 November at an online scholarship ceremony held by Frankfurt School. The prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euro, is awarded annually to an international student at Frankfurt School who has distinguished themselves through academic achievement and outstanding social or intercultural commitment.

"We congratulate Oana Barabula on the 2020 DAAD Prize," says Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School. "The Frankfurt School is a place of international exchange and stands for commitment, openness and tolerance. We are therefore particularly pleased that Oana Barabula enriches our Business School with her personality and commitment.

Oana Barabula comes from Romania and has been studying for a Bachelor in Business Administration (B.Sc.) at Frankfurt School since 2018, majoring in international management. Since the beginning of her studies she has been involved in the FS Charity, FS Women in Business and TEDxFS student initiatives. She also acts as a mentor for international students at the Frankfurt School. Alongside her studies, she works for Fresenius Medical Care in the area of sustainability.

Scholarships for students at the Frankfurt School

In addition to the annual DAAD Award, Frankfurt School is sponsoring a further 14 students with a DAAD scholarship in the winter semester. This is a combined scholarship and support programme funded by the DAAD from the Federal Foreign Office (STIBET). In addition to the DAAD scholarships, Frankfurt School supports students with a number of other scholarships. At the online scholarship holders' party on 5 November, more than 260 scholarships were awarded, including 30 Bachelor of Science Diversity Scholarships from Frankfurt School, 155 Frankfurt School Scholarships, 42 German Scholarships supported by 20 corporate partners and 13 scholarships from the Klaus-Peter Müller Scholarship Fund.
