We all are shocked and appalled by the racist attack in Hanau last week, in which people with immigrant backgrounds were deliberately killed. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims.

International students, partners and guests may now ask themselves how safe it is to study, research, work and live in Germany. We take these concerns very seriously.

Business schools advance freedom, tolerance, openness and internationalism. These values are at the heart of what Frankfurt School stands for. We embrace diversity at our institution and cultivate open and respectful interaction, regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender or social background.

We believe diversity makes our students stronger. We are proud that Frankfurt School brings together people from over 100 nations to study, work and research. We actively cultivate integration in our classrooms, in our curriculum, through scholarships, and with our outreach to the developing world.
We advocate the importance of being role models for an open and tolerant society with their lives, experiences and achievements to our staff, students and community.

In light of this event, we encourage our students and staff to continue to lead by example as we work towards an open and tolerant society.

Yours
Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School
