We are seeking a qualified and experienced lecturer to teach module “Principles of Data-centric Thinking” in the winter semester 2025/2026. This module is designed to provide the students with a foundational understanding of what data are, how they are generated, and the role they play in business, economics and politics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching on the basis of existing course materials and developing these materials further. Ideally, the successful candidate will subsequently also teach the more specialized modules “Foundations of Data Science” and “Data Science Lab” in the summer semester.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach and further develop courses that teach a foundational understanding of data science
  • Ensure that course materials and instruction align with departmental goals and objectives
  • Conduct engaging and interactive lessons and provide regular assignments
  • Review and correct assignments and provide individualized feedback
  • Provide individualized attention and support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Economics, Business or a related field
  • Proven experience with quantitative research and data analysis
  • 3+ years of teaching experience, preferably at an undergraduate level
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to student success and academic excellence

01 September 2025 – mid-January 2026, with the possibility to take on further teaching in the subsequent summer semester (January – June 2026)

Class volume:

2 groups, each with 4 teaching units per week (1 teaching unit = 45 minutes)
