Summer Academy

Overview

As a war in eastern Europe unfolds, the rural and agricultural finance community is now confronted with a profound shock to food and commodity prices while many export markets and trade finance options are still disrupted. At the same time, the pervasive effects of climate change in exposed regions are increasingly evident in recurring yield shocks and natural disasters. Counterparts in advanced country export markets are also adopting sustainability principles while established development partners redefine financing modalities.

In this track we will cover the key emerging themes impacting the rural and agricultural finance community. We will present practical financing solutions and insurance models. This includes a deep dive in the modelling of climate risk and its management in exposed rural areas.

Dr. Joachim Bald

is Frankfurt School’s most senior international advisor and a recognised expert in Treasury and Risk Management for banking and microfinance. He serves as lead consultant and trainer at the Frankfurt School Competence Center in Risk Management and regularly manages complex implementation assignments in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.

Administrative Details

The tuition fee for the trainings is EUR 4,300 and it covers all training materials, catering as well as transportation for any site visits*.

The Summer Academies are fully tuition based and not sponsored. Accordingly, participants are required to cover the full costs of the training or find a sponsor.
